Combining the grace of ancient Greek wrestlers (see photo below) and the brute force of classic legal scholars (hence “wrestlaw”), the law firm of Marty J. Schwartz, P.C. ("Firm") was established in 1991. Concentrating solely on commercial litigation, including business break-ups, breach of contract, fraud and other business torts, real estate and construction litigation and employment disputes, the Firm has spawned into a force of four to five attorneys. And, with relationships with a number of independent attorneys, the Firm has access to many more litigators if needed.
The sole focus of the Firm is to obtain the most effective results possible for the client, whether by verdict, settlement, mediation or other means. Some cases require the attorneys to be relentless and ruthless; others may require a "rope-a-dope" approach. The experience of the Firm's members, armed with the input from the client will dictate which approach will yield the best outcome.
The general philosophy of the Firm is to make every reasonable effort to reach a fair resolution. Many lawsuits can be resolved by creative solutions, others by the payment of money. If the other party is unwilling or unable to partake in a fair result, then the only remaining tactic is for the Firm to eviscerate the opposition. The Firm handles all cases as though they were going to trial and is prepared to go to trial on each and every case.
The Firm represents plaintiffs and defendants in disputes ranging from fifty thousand dollars to millions of dollars. The most common clients are small to medium size companies as well as individuals and entrepreneurs. A number of the Firm's clients are escapees from large firms where they were unable or unwilling to pay the higher rates typically charged by those types of law firms. Although all litigation is expensive, the small size of the Firm enables it to keep its rates within a manageable range.
